Company Charity status..

The company is now incorporated with Judith Smith and Deirdre Dee as the initial directors. Registration of the charity status is still in progress and as soon as that is approved we will be able to confirm the appointment of the trustees.

Go ahead for the bore hole..

Judith is going to Tanzania at the May to meet with the engineers on site and authorise the work to start. All relevant parties have been informed from the Minister of Water of Tanzania to the local authorities and the village council.

Judith had a meeting with the Ambassador for Tanzania at the embassy in London on the 20th May and invited the minister to travel to Devon to see the play pump installed at Crealy Park, as we have established strong links with an NGO working in Tanzania with funds to install over 100 play pumps in rural areas of Tanzania.

Forthcoming Fundraisers

Cardenio”

Laura Houndsom is currently a second year Cambridge undergrad and has directed a production of “Cardenio” (Shakespeare’s ‘lost’ play) It has been performed in Cambridge and she is undertaking a short tour of Exeter and Devon venues prior to taking it up to the Edinburgh Festival. We are investigating the possibility of staging an evening gala charity performance in Connaught Gardens on Saturday 27th June in aid of Buturi. We need ideas as to how to raise some funds at this event as we are not allowed to officially sell tickets as Connaught Gardens Sidmouth is a designated public place.

“Charity Swimathon

This will now take place in the autumn.

A Brick for Buturi”

Now the water is about to be installed we are moving on to the next stage of the project which is a brick built school and library. Once again, we would like to involve local schools in the area as we feel it will continue to build on the relationship  which was established with the schools last year with their involvement in the “Jambo Tanzania” shows
